(Nov. 11, 2014) -- The UTSA Debate team concluded the fall season with another stellar performance. Eight students traveled to Edmond, Okla., to compete at a tournament hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma.

The team of Diana Elizondo and Blaire Warren received third place in the Junior Division, and Karmenly Alegria and Bianca Salazar received fourth. Several of the debaters also received individual speaker awards for their division.

Warren placed fourth, Elizondo placed seventh and Salazar placed eighth. In the Championship Division, Emma Pabst (a freshman from Cedar Ridge High School) ranked sixth among the top individual competitors of the tournament.

The season will begin again in January with the Texas Two-Step Swing Tournament, two intense back-to-back competitions hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of North Texas.
