(Dec. 16, 2014) -- UTSA is ready for more than 3,800 graduation candidates to walk across the stage Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20 at its Commencement ceremonies at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in downtown San Antonio. UTSA recommends students in the ceremonies and their guests arrive two hours before their ceremony is scheduled to begin to minimize parking problems.

>> There are five recommended parking options for the ceremonies. Read details on the Commencement 2014 website.

>> An additional option is VIA Metropolitan Transit, which will provide shuttle service to the ceremonies from a stop on Buena Vista Street at lot D-1 near the UTSA Downtown Campus. Parking will be free in UTSA lots under the freeway. Shuttles will stop at approximate 10-minute intervals. On Friday, the shuttles will run 2-8 p.m. On Saturday, shuttles will run 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The shuttle fare is $1.20 each way, 60 cents each way for students. A current UTSA student ID is required to receive the special rate. Exact fare is required because VIA bus operators do not provide change. Shuttle tokens will be available for purchase at a booth at the UTSA parking lot. All VIA passes are valid for the shuttle service. Read details at the VIA Metropolitan Transit website.

The first Commencement ceremony will begin at 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, for graduation candidates from the College of Engineering, College of Liberal and Fine Arts and University College.

The first Saturday ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. for degree candidates from the College of Education and Human Development and College of Sciences.

The second Saturday ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. with candidates from the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning, College of Business and College of Public Policy.
