UTSA University Career Center Announces Spring 2015 Events
(Jan. 21, 2015) - The UTSA University Career Center announces the Spring 2015 lineup of events to help UTSA students and alumni achieve their career goals.
Events for the semester include:
- S.T.E.M. Career Fair - Wednesday, February 11, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m., Main Campus HUC Ballroom (HUC 1.104)
- All Majors Career Fair - Wednesday, February 11, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., Main Campus HUC Ballroom (HUC 1.104)
- Professional Etiquette Dinner - Thursday, February 19, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., Main Campus Denman Ballroom (UC 2.01.28)
- Downtown Professional Etiquette Lunch - Wednesday, March 4, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., UTSA Downtown campus
- Educator Career Fair - Tuesday, March 31, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Convocation Center
The center offers many career and job-search tools and resources including individual counseling, mock interviews, resume reviews, career and academic major assessments and more. Staff members are available to assist in identifying and developing the skills necessary to pursue lifelong career goals.
The RowdyJobs Web site is available to provide resources and help with job searches. Students and alumni can post their resumes for employers to view, search for jobs, view upcoming career events and register for workshops.
In addition, all on-campus employers are encouraged to post their on-campus jobs and internships on RowdyJobs for students to view and apply for.
"I use what I learned in BBE at work and at home. Keeping it top-of-mind has helped me a lot with almost everyone I deal with. Sign up as quick as you can -- it's one of the most valuable things I've ever done," said Shawn Fluitt, 2014 BBE graduate.
The Career Center will also host six Group Mock Interview sessions, 13 weekly “Lunch and Learn” workshops and offers 65 on-demand workshops on a variety of career-related topics.
Dozens of employers will visit UTSA this semester and interview qualified and interested UTSA students on campus, as well as offer information sessions where students can learn more about career and internship opportunities. Find out more at www.HireRoadrunners.com.
