UTSA Orientation Leaders will guide new Roadrunners through new student orientation
(June 1, 2015) – UTSA gicks off its new student and family orientation sessions today for the Fall 2015 semester. To date, 5,200 future Roadrunners are expected to attend summer orientation sessions taking place on the Main Campus through August.
Hosted by the Office of Orientation and Family Programs, UTSA’s orientation sessions help new Roadrunners and their family members transition to college life and learn about the university and its traditions. The orientation sessions are focused on creating a positive experience that connects and welcomes them to the campus community.
Programming is targeted at new freshmen, transfer students, graduate students, international students and their families. At orientation, students will:
- complete a class schedule in their chosen major and attend a comprehensive academic advising session
- learn about UTSA student and family support services and academic life
- understand the personal and financial responsibilities of attending a university
- explore the importance of academic responsibility
- learn about UTSA traditions, campus life and how to get involved
The orientation sessions will also provide new students and their families with a structured, comprehensive introduction to the wide range of academic and social opportunities available at UTSA.
