Water restrictions lifted

Water Restrictions

The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) has lifted water restrictions.

Summer is a high-use time, but SAWS said it will continue to monitor the weather to see how long San Antonio can remain restriction-free. Drought restrictions may return if exceedingly dry weather returns or if the aquifer starts dropping significantly.

In support of water conservation and environmental stewardship, UTSA will continue to seek ways to reduce water consumption, as we have done with the installation of synthetic turf recreation fields, the use of air conditioning condensate water as make-up water for cooling towers and fountains, and the installation of low flow toilets and urinals throughout campus.

Facilities staff will also continue to employ effective conservation practices and monitor drought information at http://www.saws.org.
