UTSA launches new minor in civic engagement
( Feb. 18, 2016) -- The UTSA College of Public Policy (COPP) Department of Public Administration announces a new minor in Civic Engagement open to all university majors beginning this semester.
The UTSA Minor in Civic Engagement is designed to provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of civic knowledge, skills and values through the exploration of diverse communities and systems that enrich and challenge society.
The program also provides students with a foundational understanding of civic participation, civic literacy and the skills necessary to positively change the communities in which they work and live. Students enrolled in the program will actively engage with the San Antonio community through a variety of service-learning opportunities.
UTSA students pursuing the minor in civic engagement must complete 18 semester credit hours. Courses will be offered at both the UTSA Main and Downtown Campuses.
