Get ready to Be Counted!
(April 15, 2016) -- Interested in helping your favorite UTSA college win $15,000? Vote in this month’s Be Counted! Campaign.
Launched and coordinated by the UTSA Office of Annual Giving, the Be Counted! Campaign UTSA 2016 provides the community with an opportunity to support UTSA’s top-tier academic, research and outreach programs. Seven colleges are competing in the campaign, which runs through April 29.
This year’s annual giving campaign spoofs the nation’s presidential elections. Candidates include the deans of the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning; College of Business; College of Education and Human Development; College of Engineering; College of Liberal and Fine Arts; College of Public Policy; and College of Sciences.
In fun, election-style videos, the candidates present their campaign platforms on UTSA’s crowdfunding website, Launch UTSA, to encourage participation and earn support. The college with the campaign’s highest participation percentage compared to its goal will win a bonus prize of $15,000 in unrestricted funds.
In addition to sharing campaign videos, Launch UTSA provides details about how each college plans to use the funds it raises this month. The college’s fundraising priorities range from raising support for student scholarships, fellowships and leadership programs to raising funds for laboratory equipment and community outreach programs.
“From $5 dollars to $500, it’s not about how much you give, but that you give,” said Genevieve Tobias, director of Annual Giving at UTSA. “Since the Be Counted! Campaign is based on participation rates, gifts of any size will help the college of your choice get one step closer to winning.”
