Campers take a swing at UTSA summer camps, August 1-5
(August 1, 2016) -- Throughout the summer, The University of Texas at San Antonio is offering more than 100 summer camps that are educational and fun for local elementary, high school and incoming undergraduate students. Campers interact with top-tier faculty, staff and students to explore their interests and enrich their minds.
Students interested in brushing up their math skills before they head back to school and athletes who want to hit a home run on the diamond learn from passionate UTSA faculty and coaches.
This week, UTSA is offering the following camps:
Math Jump Start Camp
Monday to Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
This fast pace program is designed for students who took the math placement exam and scored just under the acceptable score for entrance into MAT 1093 or 1214.
Youth Future Stars Summer Camp
Monday to Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Roadrunner Field, UTSA Main Campus
Skilled youth players will get an intense camp experience with Roadrunners baseball coaches. Camp will be limited access, more individualized instruction, in-depth teaching in skills areas and lectures and drill work in the areas of team defense and offense.
ITEC Camps
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
During the UTSA Interactive Technology Experience Center summer camps, children in kindergarten through 2nd grade will study microbiology and physics. Third through 5th grade campers will study chemistry, and build and program humanoid robots, roving vehicles and mechanical beasties.

UTSA Southwest CampusJoin the PEACE Center and Wellbeing Services for Denim Day, a day of learning about the importance of consent and why we wear denim on the last Wednesday of the month each April during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Stop by our Denim Day display to take a photo in front of our Denim Wall, spin the "Is It Consent?" Wheel, and get a Concha or goodie.
