UTSA offers summer camps for all ages, July 25-29
(July 25, 2016) -- Throughout the summer, The University of Texas at San Antonio is offering more than 100 summer camps that are educational and fun for local elementary, high school and incoming undergraduate students. Campers interact with top-tier faculty, staff and students to explore their interests and enrich their minds.
Students interested in athletics, robotics and even history can enjoy the camps taking place at UTSA. The activities get students involved and allow them to interact with passionate UTSA faculty members on campus.
This week, UTSA is offering the following camps:
Legacy Archaeology Camp
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
The UTSA Center for Archaeological Research's weeklong day camp "Archaeology and Innovations," is open to 9 to 13-year-olds. Campers will participate in indoor and outdoor activities while exploring ancient technologies from around the world and new technologies archaeologists are using now.
ITEC Camps
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
During the UTSA Interactive Technology Experience Center summer camps, children in kindergarten through 2nd grade will study microbiology and programming. Third through 5th grade campers will learn about geology. Sixth through 8th graders will explore robotics during a treasure hunting adventure.
Tennis Camp
Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., UTSA Tennis Facility, Main Campus
UTSA tennis staff share their passion and knowledge of the game with campers. Players can get tips on how to improve their game in a fun setting during drills and match play.
History Mystery Museum Summer Camp
Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures
The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures hosts this weeklong day camp for 11 and 12 year olds. Texas history comes to life through hands-on activities and campers get behind-the-scenes access of the museum and all the mysteries it holds.
Math Boot Camp
Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., UTSA Main Campus
Faculty in the UTSA Department of Mathematics will prepare campers for future math courses. Students can improve their skills in elementary and intermediate algebra.
