UTSA Roadrunner Days Schedule: August 23

(August 23, 2016) -- It's our favorite time of the year. The official kick-off of UTSA's new academic year, Roadrunner Days, runs Aug. 19-28 at the Main and Downtown campuses.

Roadrunner Days events and activities give students an opportunity to take part in time-honored UTSA traditions and connect students with UTSA resources.

After a full day of classes, Roadrunner work up an appetite. Students can come together Tuesday evening for free food and fellowship. Here are the details:

President's BBQ on the Lawn
Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Convocation Center Lawn, Main Campus
President Ricard Romo hosts this celebration to kick off the new school year. The event will feature a live musical performance by Hydra Melody and a free BBQ dinner.

McNair Scholars' Spring Celebration

This event will acknowledge graduating seniors from the McNair Scholars program at UTSA before inducting the new cohort of scholars into the program.

Doctoral Conferral Ceremony

At this memorable celebration, UTSA graduates will be introduced one-by-one to cross the stage and accept their doctoral degrees.

Roadrunner Walk

Roadrunner Walk is an event for graduating students to have a memorable walk on campus to celebrate an important milestone and their achievements. Graduates will walk along the Paseo while being celebrated by the UTSA community, friends, and family members.
