UTSA Libraries has the resources to fulfill your every academic need
(Aug. 25, 2016) -- The start of a fresh semester can be a daunting time filled with parking wars, walking in on the wrong class, and keeping track of a planner’s worth of new assignments.
Thankfully, Roadrunners don’t have to go at it all on their own. The UTSA Libraries provides a one-stop shop for every academic need outside of the classroom, whether it’s to find information, study, prepare for a group project, get help or catch up on email in between classes.
The libraries offer a rich blend of resources to support academic work including reservable study rooms, high-speed KIC scanners, a selection of textbooks on reserve, and tech gear available for checkout. Using Library Quick Search, students have easy access to the library’s vast collections, including the latest scholarly journals and over a million e-books.
And because one library isn’t enough, UTSA has three:
• The John Peace Library (JPL) on the Main Campus is the largest with three floors of resources including the Writing Center, tutoring services, supplemental instruction, an OIT service point, spaces for studying alone or together, and hundreds of computer workstations.
• Featuring views of the San Antonio skyline, diverse study spaces and computing services, the Downtown Library serves UTSA’s Downtown Campus community and its multiple undergraduate and graduate professional programs.
• The Applied Engineering and Technology (AET) Library is located in the AET building on the Main Campus and is a bookless library designed with science and engineering students in mind.
UTSA’s libraries all have great hours spanning into the evenings and weekends. The JPL is open 24 hours a day, five days a week during the fall and spring semesters.
Whether it’s in person or online, the libraries’ Blue Crew staff are happy to help students with finding information to complete class assignments—our motto is “ask us anything!” Students can connect with the Blue Crew via the chat window on the library’s website, or at any library information desk—just look for those blue shirts!
