UTSA ranks among top universities worldwide in U.S. News and World Report assessment
(October 26, 2016) -- The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has once again been ranked among the top universities in the world, this time by U.S. News & World Report. UTSA ranks No. 79 among U.S. public academic institutions and No. 444 overall according to the 2017 Best Global Universities rankings.
U.S. News & World Report assessed the top 1,000 institutions across more than 60 countries and calculated the rankings based on 12 indicators measuring academic and research performance as well as global and regional reputation.
Notably, UTSA’s engineering programs rank No. 12 for engineering international collaboration and No. 346 overall among its worldwide peers.
Additionally, U.S. News and World Report ranked UTSA’s social science/public health programs No. 387 internationally.
Twelve Texas academic institutions, both public and private, were recognized in the Best Global Universities Ranking. They are:

61 - Rice University
105 - TAMU, College Station
231 (tie) - UT-Dallas
328 - Baylor
368 - University of Houston
416 - UT–Arlington
443 - Southern Methodist
444 - UTSA
472 - Texas Tech
634 - UNT
866 - UTEP
Earlier this fall, Times Higher Education ranked UTSA among the top 400 universities worldwide.
