UTSA puts FLSA conversions on hold following judge’s injunction
(November 23, 2016) -- A federal judge in Texas has granted a preliminary injunction against implementation of the revised Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) salary threshold increase, which was scheduled to go into effect on December 1, 2016.
Based on this injunction, UTSA is putting on hold the planned employee conversions from exempt to nonexempt status. Planned UTSA employee conversions to nonexempt status were based solely on the increase to the FLSA salary threshold.
The university will provide updates as more information is available.
