Rosalie Ambrosino Named Vice President for Student Affairs Ambrosino, who joined UTSA in the summer of 1999, will oversee the Offices of Financial Aid and Scholarships; Student Life, including Judicial Affairs, Student Government and other student organizations; the University Center; Orientation and New Student Programs; Career Services; the Counseling Center and Mental Health Services; Student Health Services, Testing Center, Multicultural Programs; Wellness and Recreation; Disability Services; the Upward Bound program; and Campus Housing. She will also be responsible for Academic Advising, Enrollment Services, Admissions and Registrar, Catalogs, the Tomas Rivera Center and Learning Communities programs. "I am extremely pleased with the search committee's recommendation to appoint Rosalie Ambrosino as vice president for student affairs," said UTSA President Ricardo Romo. "Her work with students and experience in academic affairs have prepared her well for this important position in the administration of the university." Romo also commended the work of Pat Graham, assistant vice president for planning and special programs, who has served as interim vice president for student affairs. "Pat's assistance during this time of transition at the university has been invaluable, and I know we all look forward to her continued involvement in student affairs." "I am excited about the opportunity to lead this important part of our university community," said Ambrosino. "Crucial to our success as we educate students will be a strengthened partnership between student affairs and academic affairs, and this is a strategic direction I hope to pursue immediately." "I look forward to working with everyone in student affairs," Ambrosino added. "UTSA's student affairs team includes exceptional individuals who are dedicated to supporting our students, and I want to thank Pat Graham for her leadership as interim vice president." A licensed social worker with a special interest in multicultural education, Ambrosino directed the School of Social Work and the undergraduate program at the University of Texas at Austin prior to joining UTSA. Ambrosino holds a bachelor's in social work and sociology from the University of Minnesota and a master's in educational administration and multicultural education from Antioch University. She earned a doctorate in social work from UT Austin in 1985 and began her career there the same year at the Center for Social Work Research. Send
