University Directory Now Online Do you need to find the phone number for an individual in the Admissions Office or a UTSA faculty or staff member? If so, the University has recently implemented a new online directory that will replace the printed telephone directory, which was last updated in 1999. The new directory can be found on the main and secondary UTSA Web pages by accessing the directories option on the navigation bar or by accessing the direct link. Select the faculty, staff and offices option to begin searching. "Due to the ongoing changes in the academic structure, we decided it was no longer feasible to print a paper directory," said David Gabler, assistant vice president for communications. "The old directory was obsolete as soon as it was printed. Now, the online version will be updated daily." While the new directory is easier to maintain, employees must first verify that their information is correct to ensure accuracy. Users are also encouraged to add their e-mail address to the listing as well. Both individuals and departments can update directory information. An employee with DEFINE access can go to the YI8 command and make the appropriate changes. Employees without access can have department administrative support staff update information for them. Department personnel need to access the EI1 command in DEFINE to update employee information. If you do not have access to EI1, please contact DEFINE Administrative Services at 458-4556. "The new online directory will benefit all employees and maintain a higher level of accuracy than the printed version," said Gabler. Send
