Teaching and Learning Center The Teaching and Learning Center will sponsor the workshop "Effective Teaching to Promote Study Skills, Collaborative Learning and Achievement in Large Classes" at 9 a.m. Friday, April 13 in JPL 4.03.08. The workshop will be led by Julia Shaftel, University of Kansas Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation, and Tim Shaftel, University of Kansas School of Business. The instructors will discuss how the University of Kansas revitalized a struggling business class by adopting a larger class format taught by senior faculty and small group meetings with teaching assistants. In addition, they will discuss alternative teaching techniques, persuasion and other mechanisms to enhance both learning and behavior. Participants can register online or by calling 458-4050.
