Noe Saldana

Saldana Named Director of Research Development

(July 31, 2001) Noe Saldana has been named director of the Research Development office, where he has served as assistant director since 1995. In the new position, he provides administrative support and guidance to faculty and staff in their preparation and submission of grant proposals to funding agencies.

"Noe Saldana maintains an excellent working relationship with the UTSA faculty and with officials from funding agencies," according to Vice Provost for Research James Almazan.

A graduate of UTSA, Saldana has nearly 15 years experience in grant-development activities at UTSA. Last year, he received an award for developing proposals resulting in more than $15 million in grants and contracts to the university in 1999.

In 1999, he received a staff excellence award for service to the university.
