Parking Violators Now Being Towed from Downtown Lot

After making numerous "good neighbor" requests and reminders to those members of the Tri-Campus community who park illegally in the San Antonio Business Technology Center's (BTC's) lot located on Frio Street across from the UTSA Downtown Campus, the center's management has been forced to start having unauthorized vehicles towed.

Vice Provost for UTSA Downtown Jesse Zapata reported that BTC Director Maxwell Young has expressed his concern about the situation.

"Mr. Maxwell has been very lenient with violators up to now and has made several pleas to our faculty, staff, students and other visitors not to park in the BTC lot," said Zapata, who added that four to five cars, on average, are now being removed from the BTC lot daily at a towing charge of up to $160 each.

"I'm asking everyone to remember that the BTC lot is a private lot and to please park only in UTSA's designated parking areas in the Durango Loop lot and under the I-10/35 expressway lots south of Durango Blvd."
