UTSA Celebrates Homecoming Jan. 26 through Feb. 3 UTSA faculty, staff and students are encouraged to wear orange and blue in support of the men's and women's basketball teams. Decorating contests will also be held at the Tri-campuses. For more information about the decorating contests, read the UTSA Today Spirit Day story. This year's theme, "Established in '69...Survivors for all Time" celebrates UTSA's history while also embracing our strong alliances and tenacity. Other homecoming activities Friday include a visit by UTSA coaches and Rowdy to the Frio Street Building Commons Area at 10 a.m. and to the Institute of Texan Cultures at 11 a.m. A pep rally will be held from 6-10 p.m. Friday on the east lawn of the Convocation Center. The University community is invited to partake of refreshments, music and entertainment by Travelin' Max. UTSA's Homecoming game versus Southwest Texas State features competition from both the men's and women's basketball teams. The women will play at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 and the men's game will follow at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Tickets are available by calling 458-UTSA. Shuttle service will also be provided from the Downtown Campus to the Convocation Center. For more information about the shuttle service, read the Spirit Day story. Additional activities throughout the week include a talent show at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 in Retama Auditorium; a one-on-one basketball game with the Roadrunners at noon Tuesday, Jan. 30 in the Sombrilla; the annual golf cart parade at noon Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Sombrilla; and a performance by magician Philip Chancellor at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the Buena Vista Street Building Theater. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for students. Homecoming will conclude with the Roadrunners taking on McNeese State Saturday, Feb. 3, and the announcement of Homecoming royalty. The women's team will play at 2 p.m. with the men's game beginning at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.
