"To Live"

This 1994 film, winner of the Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or and directed by Zhang Yimou, depicts the resiliency of one Chinese family under the Guomintang, the Japanese invasion, Mao's Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. Gong Li stars.
