UTSA's Basketball Teams Victorious
The men's team was led by McEverett Powers, who clinched a last-second shot to secure a 71-69 victory over Southwest Texas State Tuesday night. The men will now face No. 6 Northwestern State in an 8 p.m. semifinal match Friday in Louisiana. The winner advances to the championship game at 11 a.m. Saturday. The tournament champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The women's team thumped No. 5 Lamar in a one-sided 80-59 victory. The Roadrunners will now face top-seed Stephen F. Austin in an 8 p.m. semifinal game Thursday in Louisiana. The winner advances to the championship game 3 p.m. Saturday, with the tournament winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
