On Friday, March 2 the UTSA Downtown Campus hosted the Read Across America Day. The event featured UTSA faculty and staff, media personalities and elected officials reading selections from Dr. Seuss to elementary children.

The event was sponsored by the university's America Reads tutoring program in conjunction with the San Antonio Commission on Reading.

Student athletes participated in the Walk for Women's Athletics.In addition the annual Walk for Women's Athletics was held Saturday, March 3 in the Convocation Center due to inclement weather conditions.

The event supports scholarships for UTSA's NCAA Division I women's athletic program. Over the last 12 years, about 7,000 persons have taken part, raising nearly $400,000.
