UTSA Leads Nation in Undergraduate Biological Sciences Degrees for Hispanics
For the fourth time in five years, UTSA leads the nation in the number of undergraduate degrees in the biological sciences awarded to Hispanics. UTSA also ranks third nationwide in the number of undergraduate degrees awarded in business and marketing, currently the most popular discipline concentration for Hispanics.
Both distinctions are reported in the May 7 issue of Hispanic Outlook in
Higher Education in the publication's annual ranking of 100 colleges and universities
in the United States and Puerto Rico.
UTSA is ranked No. 6 nationally in overall undergraduate degrees granted to
Hispanics. In addition to the number of biological sciences and business/marketing
degrees, the ranking also shows four other undergraduate degree program areas
at UTSA among the top 10 for Hispanics: interdisciplinary studies, which at
UTSA prepares graduates to teach (3rd); protective services (6th); mathematics
(8th); and English and literature (9th).
