UTSA, Northwest Vista College Launch 2+2 Program
UTSA President Ricardo Romo and Northwest Vista College (NVC) President Jacqueline Claunch yesterday signed an agreement initiating a 2+2 program that will enable NVC students to achieve their goal of obtaining a bachelor's degree.
The 2+2 partnership allows NWC students who have obtained associate of arts, associate of science or associate of applied science in multimedia technology degrees to apply their credits to 36 different undergraduate degree programs at UTSA.
"We are thrilled to be collaborating with UTSA to offer our graduates this opportunity to further their education," said Claunch. "I believe this is the beginning of many joint ventures between NVC and UTSA to serve the higher education needs of students in the San Antonio area."
"Students who participate in this 2+2 program will benefit from excellent advising and course scheduling throughout that will enable them to make a seamless transition from a two-year to a four-year institution," said Romo. Romo added that the close physical proximity between Northwest Vista and UTSA's 1604 Campus will also help to make for a convenient transition for students who take part in this program.
UTSA has 2+2 agreements with several local colleges, including other components of the Alamo Community College District: Palo Alto, SAC and St. Philip's.
