UTSA Faculty Member Selected to Edit Poetry for Local Newspaper

Wendy Barker, professor of English, is this month's poetry editor for the San Antonio Express-News. She has new poems appearing in the current issue of Poetry magazine and translations (with Saranindranath Tagore) appearing in the current issue of The Kenyon Review/Stand magazine.

As a featured writer of the Texas Writers Project, Barker has read her poetry at dozens of universities, bookstores, and conferences in the United States, Europe and India.

Her poems are being showcased as part of Austin's new Poetry in Motion project, and are placed in Austin buses. Professor Barker is currently on faculty development leave, after spending the fall semester as a Fulbright senior lecturer at Sofia University in Bulgaria.
