Graduates rejoiced last May after commencement
exercises in the UTSA Convocation Center on the
1604 Campus.

2001 Winter Commencement set for Dec. 15

(Nov. 28, 2001)--More than 2,000 graduation candidates representing six UTSA colleges are expected to participate in the 2001 Winter Commencement exercises set for 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 in the UTSA Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus.

Keynote speakers for the day are State Sen. Leticia Van De Putte at 9 a.m., Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff at 12:30 p.m. and UTSA Alumni Association and Sprint Southeast Region President James Mickey at 4 p.m.

UTSA will mark a milestone this semester with 50,000 diplomas having been awarded since UTSA was established.

UTSA Police Chief George Powers says that due to security concerns at commencement, bringing backpacks, large bags or packages of any nature is strongly discouraged. "If anyone would choose to bring such an item we remind them that it would be subject to search," said Powers.

College of Education and Human Development and College of Sciences

College of Business and College of Public Policy
Keynote Speaker: UTSA Alumni Association President James Mickey
