Alabama-Birmingham engineering dean to speak today at UTSA
(Nov. 15, 2001)--Linda Lucas, Ph.D., dean of the School of Engineering at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, will be the featured speaker at The Bioengineering Forum at 3 p.m. Thursday Nov. 15 at the UTSA Biosciences Building Tom and Nancy Loeffler Seminar Room (3.03.02) on the 1604 Campus.
Lucas will speak on "Biomedical Engineering - the UAB Experience" at the seminar jointly sponsored by the UTSA Colleges of Engineering and Sciences and the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Lucas recently stepped down as the chair of biomedical engineering where she expanded the department from five to 23 faculty in six years. She served as president of the Society for Biomaterials, and is the current president of the Biomedical Engineering Society, the largest professional group of biomedical engineers.
