dinner and entertainment benefiting the Department
of Music.

Music department to present holiday madrigal dinners

(Nov. 19, 2001)--The UTSA Department of Music will present its annual Holiday Madrigal Dinners with the theme "A Night in the French Court" at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 15 at the Multidisciplinary Studies Building Kiva on the 1604 Campus.

This year's performance will tell the tale of love and politics between France's Louis XIII, his wife Queen Anne and the king's chief minister, Cardinal Richelieu. Despite the need for an heir apparent, the king and queen's relationship is anything but harmonious. Aware of the plot of the Spanish and Austrian Hapsburgs to take over the throne, Cardinal Richelieu takes on the couple's waning relationship as a project to ensure the throne will stay with French royalty.

The performance will include a seated dinner. Seating is limited and available in tables of six. Tickets must be purchased for regular seating at $40 or preferred seating at $50 in advance by calling the UTSA Department of Music at (210) 458-4355.
