(Nov. 1, 2001)--The first annual United Way agency fair at UTSA's 1604 Campus is history and more than 200 people stopped at information tables at the Sombrilla and had a chance to meet with some of the funded agencies to see first hand how the donated money is used.

Participating agencies at the United Way fair included CHIP, Any Baby Can of San Antonio, American Heart Association, Brighton School, Inc., Community Health Agencies, Alzheimer's Association, Prevent Blindness of Texas and National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.

In addition to the information, UTSA United Way volunteers raised $150 from a bake sale, silent auction and donations.

Forty fairgoers won door prizes, many of which remain unclaimed. Winners should pick up their prizes at the Office of the Provost (JPL 4.04.10) by 5 p.m. Friday.

Door Prize winners were Renee Hopkins, Kris Rodriguez, Anne Speights, Gean Bruner, Margaret Black, Bill Hamilton, Daniel Warden, Shirley Pipes, Daniel Vincent, Lori Zerr, Sandy Pottorff, Mary Marvich, Karen Thurman, Marisol Flores, Julie Vocham, Michael Ferree, Jen Ramirez, Renee Ortegon, Veronica Flores, Melissa Zepeda, Yvette Ramirez, Jessica James, Matt Gamez, Fernando Reyes, Sandy Yarbrough, Lisa Lawrence, Mark Cabrera, Annette Campos, Lori Villagomez, Shelly Farias, Patricia Hernandez, Ray Nerro and Shawn Manuel.
