(Nov. 15, 2001)--The 13th annual UTSA Walk For Women's Athletics was held Nov. 10 and raised $43,580 for women's athletic scholarships at UTSA. More than 300 people participated in the walk, which was officially sponsored by State Farm Insurance.

"We want to thank all who participated and helped to make this year's event a huge success," said Athletic Director Lynn Hickey. "The Women's Walk has historically proven to be our top fund-raiser of the year, and we are pleased with the amount of money it has provided this year which will support our women student-athletes."

Teams receiving awards included Bill and Loyce Collenback's team which raised the most money, approximately $5,585. Second place went to Harriett Romo's team which brought in $3,094.
