USAF brass ensemble performs Oct. 9 in recital hall
(Oct. 8, 2001)--The Top Brass performing ensemble of the USAF Band of the West will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the UTSA Arts Building Recital Hall on the 1604 Campus. Free parking will be available in lot 8. The concert is free and open to the public.
Stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Top Brass presents music across the spectrum of today's brass repertoire from Renaissance madrigals to the jazz of Duke Ellington.
Traveling more than 20,000 miles a year, they perform for military ceremonies, give educational clinics and present community relations programs throughout Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico. The members of Top Brass, all graduates of leading universities and music conservatories, bring to the United States Air Force many years of professional experience performing with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, touring shows and todays popular artists. They average more than 100 ceremonies, clinics, concerts and radio and television performances each year.
