Volleyballer garners player-of-the-week honors
(Oct. 3, 2001)--UTSA senior Stacy Schmidt collected 41 kills and hit .391 last week to pick up Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. The senior outside hitter helped lead the Roadrunners to their first two league wins with 3-1 victories over Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State.Schmidt posted a team-high 23 kills against SLU and hit .400 against Nicholls. To complement her offensive performance, the veteran added 30 digs and two blocks in two matches.
UTSA, 3-6 and 2-1, will remain at home this weekend with matches against Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5 and against Northwestern State at 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6.
