Nominations wanted for national student who's who
(Oct. 3, 2001)--UTSA Vice President for Student Affairs Rosalie Ambrosino requests that faculty and staff nominate outstanding junior, senior and graduate students at UTSA for membership in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Nominations will be accepted through Oct. 12.
Whos Who is a national program established in 1934 for the purpose of recognizing and honoring students who demonstrate outstanding achievement during their collegiate careers.
A student's scholarship, leadership, participation in extracurricular and academic activities, and service to the university and the local community should be considered.
Other criteria for nomination include the following:
1. Who's Who is awarded only to nominees who are classified as junior, senior, or graduate students. Any student not classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student during this fall semester will not be invited to apply for Who's Who.
2. Junior and senior students must be enrolled for a minimum of nine (9) hours at the time of nomination.
3. Graduate students must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) hours at the time of nomination.
4. Each nominee will be sent an application to his/her mailing address listed in the University Student Information System.
5. A list of all students nominated will be posted until Nov. 16 outside the student leadership and cultural programs offices, located at the 1604 Campus in University Center Room 1.02.08, and at the Downtown Campus in Durango Building Room 1.302.
To nominate a student, download and complete the form (a Word document). Be sure to verify the student's eligibility prior to submitting a nomination. Include the student's name, student identification number, major and classification on the nomination.
Return the completed Nomination Form by Friday, October 12, 2001, to: Anne Englert, Coordinator for Special Programs, Office of Student Leadership and Cultural Programs, UC 2.01.08, Campus Mail Box 224 or by e-mail to aenglert@utsa.edu.
