Quinn Barraza, assistant director of development services

UTSA announces new member of Development team

(Sept. 5, 2001)--Quinn Barraza has joined UTSA as assistant director of development services. In the position, she oversees the processing and acknowledgment of gifts to the university, as well as the management of UTSA's current and prospective donor database and research.

Barraza comes to UTSA after four years with the Kansas University Endowment Association. Under her direction as assistant director of annual giving, the KU student telephone program had a record-breaking year. For the first time in the program's nearly 50-year history, the national telephone campaign surpassed the $1 million mark in gifts and pledges from alumni and friends.

Besides her experience in higher education, Barraza also has a background in management and mutual funds.

Barraza, who grew up in England, California and Kansas, said she is excited about working at UTSA.

"I'm looking forward to being a part of a strong development team here," said Barraza. She also joked that in her three months at UTSA, she has already acquired more UTSA T-shirts than during her entire time at KU. "It just feels right to me to be here," she added.

She earned bachelor's degrees in history and philosophy at the University of Kansas.
