MBA Association hosts panel discussion on organizational leadership during crisis
(Sept. 24, 2001)--The MBA Association will host a Signature Series panel
discussion on "Organizational Leadership in a Time of Crisis" at
5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 in the Business Building Auditorium (2.01.02)
on the 1604 Campus.
Speakers include Gen. Robert F. McDermott, chairman emeritus of USAA; Jeff
Farver, president and CEO of San Antonio Federal Credit Union; and Bexar County
Judge Nelson Wolff, former mayor of San Antonio. They will share personal
experiences on responding to crisis situations and ideas on nurturing men
and women who can lead San Antonio and the nation in the 21st century.
Donde Ashmos, associate dean of graduate studies and research, was moved to
organize the event after reading an article in the New York Times discussing
how CEOs were forced to rethink leadership in light of last week's events.
"The events of the last few weeks have caused us all to reflect on life
in many different ways," said Ashmos. "This panel will reflect on
how the events of last week cause us to re-think leadership and how we train
people for leadership."
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the panel
discussion. For more information, call (210) 458-4313.
