Crisis support meeting offered Thursday at Downtown Campus

(Sept. 12, 2001)--Kathy Glash, UTSA director of counseling services, says that services are available to offer support to all members of the UTSA community who want to discuss the national cris and its impact upon our lives.

Professional counselors from the Employee Assistance (Counseling) Program - Family Services Association led group support meetings yesterday at the Downtown and 1604 Campuses, and will offer a Downtown Campus group support meeting 2-4 p.m.Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Frio Street Building Multipurpose Room (1.402).

Supervisors are requested to allow flexibility in work schedules to allow staff to attend support meetings.

Downtown Counseling Services hours are Monday through Thursday 8-4 p.m. and Friday 8 to 11:30 a.m. Call their Downtown Campus office at 458-2930. Counseling Services hours at the 1604 Campus are Monday, Thursday, and Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Call the 1604 Campus office at 458-4140.

Individual counseling without fee for UTSA faculty and staff is available through Family Services Association at 230 Pereida St., near South Alamo St. For information call (210) 226-3391. The Crisis Hotline is another resource at 227-HELP.
