Teach-ins on America's crisis are scheduled today and tomorrow on 1604 Campus
(12:00 p.m., Sept. 19, 2001)--UTSA students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in two "teach-ins" set for today and tomorrow on the 1604 Campus. The events will consist of discussion about issues related to the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. Panelists will lead discussions on a variety of topics, including Middle Eastern culture, religion, and public policy.
Faculty members are encouraged to announce the teach-ins in their classes.

Jeff Halley ( Sociology), five theses on terrorism:problems of the
concept, the social context, relative autonomy,
states fighting non-state entities, the politics of the imagery of war
Amy Jasperson (Political Science), images in the media: Islam in the
West and Americans in the East
