Teach-ins on America's crisis set for today at 1604 Campus, Sept. 27 at Downtown Campus
(9:30 a.m., Sept. 20, 2001)--A "teach-in" panel discussion concerning the tragic events of the past week is scheduled for today, Sept. 20, 1-3 p.m., at the Multidisciplinary Studies Building Kiva on the 1604 Campus. A faculty moderator and panelists will answer questions and lead discussion on a number of today's concerns. Faculty members are encouraged to announce the teach-in in their classes.
An additional teach-in is set for Thursday, Sept. 27, 4-5:30 p.m., at the Durango Building Student Center (Room 1.116) on the Downtown Campus. Panelists and topics for the Durango session are being arranged at this posting.
Yesterday marked UTSA's first teach-in concerning the violent events that took place last week. More than sixty students, faculty and staff participated in the panel discussion at the 1604 Campus, covering a variety of current issues and possible courses of action for the U.S. and the world, including the topics of Middle Eastern culture, religion and public policy.
