
Bennie Wilson Named Assistant Dean in College of Business
(Aug. 21, 2001)--Bennie Wilson, assistant professor of business communications, has been named assistant dean in the UTSA College of Business. Wilson will begin his duties Sept. 1.
A native of San Antonio, Wilson has taught at UTSA since 1998. As assistant dean, he will perform administrative duties to support undergraduate students and academic programs. His responsibilities will include overseeing advising, orientation, mentoring, student development and recruitment for College of Business students.
"Bennie is an excellent addition to our administrative team," said Bruce Bublitz, dean of the College of Business. "He brings a level of enthusiasm that will carry over to all of our student services areas. He is charged with expanding our professional development programs so that our students have access to internship experiences and career advising."
Wilson holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Auburn University, a masters of business administration degree from the University of Rochester and a bachelors in business from San Jose State University.
Prior to joining the UTSA faculty, he was general manager and director of training at the San Antonio office of Lucent Technologies Services Co. Wilson served 30 years in the United States Air Force, culminating his career at the rank of colonel.
