UTSA alumnus William Patton was named to the Executive Board of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) at its recent annual meeting in Seattle.

Pattton, a certified public accountant and assistant vice president of P&C Operational Accounting with the United States Automobile Association, received a master’s in accounting from UTSA in 1984. He is a past president of the San Antonio Chapter of TSCPA, and will serve on the executive board of the TSCPA Board of Directors, which acts in a leadership capacity for TSCPA and sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve Texas CPAs.

In addition to his activities within the TSCPA leadership, Patton is a member of the Board of Directors of Any Baby Can of Texas, and serves on the Executive Advisory Council to the School of Business Administration at Texas Lutheran University.

The prestigious TSCPA annual awards are bestowed on CPAs and members of TSCPA who have distinguished themselves within the TSCPA. The winners have been outstanding and recognized leaders in their professional careers and community.

Based in Austin, the Texas Society of CPAs (http://www.tscpa.org) is a nonprofit, voluntary professional organization representing Texas CPAs.

With a membership of 28,000 and a history of over 85 years, the Society has one of the largest in-state memberships of any CPA organization in the nation. The Society promotes professionalism, ethics and integrity among CPAs, and is committed to protecting the interests of the public and its members.
