Blood drive set for today, Wednesday at 1604 Campus

(Sept. 11, 2001)--The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center bloodmobile will be at the 1604 Campus from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12. The bloodmobile will be parked in front of the University Center. In the wake of today's terrorist attacks, hospitals treating the injured will have first priority to the nation's blood supplies, according to student health services.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. A free mini physical will be given. Bring a valid photo ID, and be sure to drink plenty of fluids before and after donating. Donors will receive a T-shirt. Blood can be donated every eight weeks.
