Latino Heritage Week events continue through Friday

(Sept. 19, 2001)--Latino Heritage Week continues through Friday, Sept. 21 at the 1604 and Downtown Campuses.

The "Mi Familia, Mi Cultura" family photo display and the "Latino Cultural Expressions Through Art" exhibit at the Downtown Campus continue through Wednesday, Sept. 19. A lowrider car show, a performance by Ballet Folklorico and "Ojos de Dios" craftmaking are additional featured events during the week.

Wednesday, September 17-19
12-5 p.m. -- "Mi Familia, Mi Cultura" family photo display, Commons Area, Frio Street Building.
10 a.m.-8 p.m. -- "Latino Cultural Expressions Through Art" art exhibit, Frio Street Building Multipurpose Room1.402.
11:30 - 1:30 p.m. -- Lowrider Car Show with 98.5 FM The Beat live, Bill Miller Plaza.

Thursday, September 20
All events at Durango Building Student Center, 1st floor, sponsored by CAB:
1-3 p.m. -- Refreshments: Fruit Cups and Aguas Frescas
1- 2 p.m. -- Ballet Folklorico
2-3 p.m. -- Mariachi Festival

Friday, September 21
8-11:30 p.m. -- "El Baile" Dance, Frio Street Building, 3rd floor terrace, sponsored by BESO.

Tuesday-Thursday, Sept. 18-20
10 a.m.- 2 p.m. -- "Chicano!" video, Commons Area, Frio Street Building.
10 a.m.- 2 p.m. -- "Hispanic Americans" video, Durango Building, Student Community Room, 1st floor.

11 a.m.-12 p.m. -- Jalapeno Eating Contest, Sombrilla, sponsored by Kappa Delta Chi.
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. -- "Ojos de Dios" craftmaking, Sombrilla, sponsored by Sigma Lambda Alpha.
