Greater San Antonio Chamber chair to speak April 17 at UTSA
(April 10, 2002)--Marty Wender, owner of Charles Martin Wender Real Estate and Investments, will present the keynote address during the Frost Bank Distinguished Lecture Series at 11 a.m. April 17 in the Business Building Auditorium (2.01.02). Wender will discuss "Selling San Antonio." The event is sponsored by the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business and is free and open to the public.
A Fort Worth native, Wender began his San Antonio business career in 1969. His business real estate development projects in San Antonio have included the 3,500 acre Westover Hills development; Fawn Meadow in the Medical Center; Crownridge; and Oak Run in New Braunfels.
Wender is active in numerous civic and charitable organizations in the community. He is chairman of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, past chairman of the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council and past chairman of the Greater Chamber's Northwest Area Business Council. He has served on the UTSA and the University of Texas Health Science Center development boards and as chairman of the Corporate Circle Council of the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research.
The Frost Bank Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business community. The lecture series, which began in 1988, presents an opportunity to broaden understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it.
