College of Business graduate faculty welcome new students

(Aug. 26, 2002)--Recently admitted students to UTSA College of Business graduate programs were welcomed to UTSA personally by college administrators and faculty during the graduate phone-a-thon earlier this month.

The Office of Graduate Studies and Research in the College of Business sponsored the second annual phone-a-thon to encourage newly admitted graduate students to enroll in the college. Participating faculty called and welcomed over 100 new graduate students to UTSA and provided feedback about the various programs and services available.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to our students how we provide a personalized graduate education,” said Donde Ashmos, associate dean for graduate studies and research. “Students who were telephoned last year indicated that it made a difference in deciding to pursue their graduate education at UTSA.”

Participants included faculty members Donde Ashmos, Karan Bhanot, Bruce Bublitz, Glenn Dietrich, Dennis Duchon, Cheryl Fulkerson, Dan Hollas, Jerry Keating, John Merrifield, Joel Saegert and Ken Weiher. Assistant Director of Graduate Student Services Kathy Pope and Graduate Adviser Donna Dancak provided assistance to the faculty throughout the evening and coordinated the event.
