Pitman named treasurer-elect of state CPA society

(August 12, 2002)--Members of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants recently selected Marshall Pitman, associate professor of accounting at UTSA, as the organization's treasurer-elect.

He will serve on the executive board of the TSCPA board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed to serve Texas CPAs.

Pitman previously was president of the TSCPA San Antonio chapter. He has volunteered on numerous committees and task forces of TSCPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He received his bachelor's degree and master's of business administration degree from Eastern Illinois University. He earned his doctorate from the University of Mississippi.

TSCPA is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional organization representing Texas CPAs. The society has 20 local chapters statewide and has 27,000 members. TSCPA is committed to serving the public interest with programs that advance the highest standards of ethics and practice within the CPA profession.
