
Week of Welcome 2001, 1604 and Downtown campuses
UTSA kicks off new year with Week of Welcome events
(Aug. 23, 2002)--The University of Texas at San Antonio will greet students, faculty and staff and bring in the new school year with Week of Welcome Aug. 26-29. Featured events include Fall Celebration, the Roadrunner Spirit Rally and the first annual Fall Convocation.
The newest event, the Fall Convocation, will feature a procession of faculty in academic regalia and staff in regalia or the orange and blue UTSA colors. The ceremony will be followed by receptions at the various UTSA colleges.
Show your Roadrunner Spirit by wearing an Orange Crush T-shirt. The T-shirts are available for $8 at the 1604 Campus bookstore. The shirts will be available Wed. at the Downtown Campus bookstore.

A new tradition at UTSA, President Romo, faculty and current students offer
formal welcome

12-1 p.m.
Following the event, colleges at the 1604 Campus will hold receptions from
1-2 p.m. Students attending the convocation will proceed in groups to the
reception for their major. At the Downtown Campus, there will be a combined
reception for all majors.
