UTSA student government sponsors 'Giving Trees' through Dec. 16
(Dec. 5, 2002)--The UTSA Student Government Association and the Government Aid Program (GAP) are sponsoring "Giving Trees" at the 1604 and Downtown Campuses to provide support to area charitable organizations. Donation boxes are located adjacent to the trees at the 1604 Campus University Center near the ticket office and at the Downtown Campus Student Activity Center in the Durango Building.

Donations will go to Women at the Well, an organization that helps women who have been in prison to find jobs and successfully rejoin society. Many of the women they aid have been affected by domestic violence.
Suggested items to donate are blankets, nonperishable foods, toys and new or gently used clothes. Items will be accepted through Dec. 16. Anything the organization cannot use will be given to other organizations.
