Largest class of Liu Fellows receives certificates in American business
(Dec. 13, 2002)--The largest class of fellows in the Liu's Family Foundation U.S.-China Business Education Initiative received certificates in American business during ceremonies last week.
The class included 10 MBA fellows as well as six Executive MBA (EMBA) fellows. This was the first semester for the executive education component. Developed in cooperation with the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Personnel, the EMBA students represented a diverse cross-section of business sectors.
The fellows have spent the semester studying American business in the classroom, as well as touring businesses throughout Texas such as Philip Morris Management Corporation, Sino Swearingen Aircraft and Time Warner Cable.
In addition to their academic experiences, the fellows have also enjoyed cultural enrichment activities as well. They attended Wurstfest, the annual German celebration in New Braunfels, and visited the Texas Capitol and the Alamo as well as a Spurs basketball game.
Graduates of the MBA class are Liu Jian, University of International Business and Economics; Long Shou Bin, Fudan University; Pang Xianzhe, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Shen Dingrong, Tongji University; Sheng Hao, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Sun Xianhong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Wang Jianbin, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Ye Zhou, Fudan University; Zhao Yong, University of International Business and Economics; and Zhu Jun, Tongji University.
Graduates of the EMBA class are Huang Youfang, Liu Xianfeng,
Pan Weidong, Wang Jinsong, Wu Jun and Yue Qun.
The Lius Family Foundation U.S.-China Business Education Initiative
began in 2000, following a generous $1 million donation by Hong Kong businessman
Richard Liu.
