UTSA's Sombrilla magazine enters online domain

(Dec. 10, 2002)--The University of Texas at San Antonio magazine, Sombrilla, is now available on the Internet.

The online version makes news, features and profiles about UTSA available to a wider audience. It is designed to complement the print version of the magazine, which is mailed three times a year to alumni, staff, faculty and friends of the university.

"The paper-based Sombrilla has won national awards including most recently a Bronze Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and I believe the online version will win similar honors," said David Gabler, assistant vice president for university communications.

"As the online version develops, we'll add content that's not available in the print version, such as story updates, extended profiles and audio and video clips," said Lynn Gosnell, the magazine's editor.

Juan Fitzmaurice, a graphic designer in the Office of University Publications, designed the online site architecture.

Send feedback about the online version of Sombrilla magazine to sombrilla@utsa.edu.
