Engineering research seminar series opens Jan. 31
(Jan. 30, 2002)--The UTSA Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics, College of Engineering is launching the "Engineering Research Seminar Series" at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 on the 1604 Campus in Science Building Room 2.02.02. The seminars are designed to enhance faculty and student involvement in engineering research and to introduce cutting-edge research topics to faculty and students. The series opens with a presentation by Ronald Bagley, UTSA associate professor of mechanical engineering and biomechanics. Bagley will present an overview of the foundations of the non-integer order calculus and its applications to problems of engineering interests, such as material characterization, finite element methods, heat conduction, circuit theory, feedback control and unsteady aerodynamics. The presentation, "Engineering Applications of the Non-Integer Order Calculus," is free and open to all.
